The Plane Train is Hartsfield-Jackson’s automated people mover (APM). The Plane Train connects the passenger terminal with the Airport’s six concourses (T, A, B, C, D and E). The Plane Train also will connect to the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal’s Concourse F when it opens in spring 2012.

The Plane Train is one of two people mover systems managed by the Airport’s APM division. The other, the ATL SkyTrain, runs between the passenger terminal and the rental car center.

The APM division’s vision is “to become the world’s premier people mover by exceeding our customers' APM expectations.” We will continually assess the quality of our service, listen to customer feedback, anticipate their needs and strive to create value in their eyes.

The APM division’s mission is “to provide the safest, most reliable transportation possible to the traveling and non-traveling public.” To differentiate Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport from its competitors, the APM division:

  • Provides a safe, reliable, and expeditious solution of passing from entry to desired exit points within the APM system

  • Places employee safety as a top priority in accomplishing our APM mission

  • Ensures both existing and future APM systems will optimally meet the needs of increasing numbers of airport customers

  • Sustains the APM system through regularly scheduled preventive maintenance and rational application of technological innovations

  • Encourages work-related training and advanced education for our employees to keep them proficient and poised to maintain superior APM performance

  • Promotes a clean and healthy workplace using environmentally safe products and enforces EPA-approved waste disposal practices for all hazardous materials

  • Acknowledges fiduciary responsibility to all APM stakeholders and works diligently to manage contractual obligations in their best interest
