MASTER PLAN EXECUTIVE SUMMARY – MARCH 2015

The Master Plan Executive Summary provides an overview of the findings and recommendations from the Master Plan study for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The Master Plan report should be consulted for additional information on the technical analyses, assumptions, and methodologies supporting the findings and recommendations. MASTER PLAN TECHNICAL REPORT – MARCH 2015

The Master Plan Technical Report provides the sources of data collected, assumptions, technical analyses, findings, and conclusions that form the basis for the recommended development plan. The document is presented in three volumes and subdivided into six sections and supporting appendices. The six document sections are as follows:

 

  • Introduction – A description of the methodology, process, and coordination that went into the creation of the master plan.
  • Inventory – The collection of existing information on the physical, operational, and functional characteristics of the Airport and its immediate environment including information on the Airport’s history, airspace and air traffic control facilities, airfield facilities, passenger terminal and concourse facilities, ground access and parking facilities, rail transit facilities, support and ancillary facilities, environmental conditions, meteorological conditions, and utilities.
  • Aviation Activity Forecasts – A review of the historical aviation activity trends at the Airport and the development of forecasts of aviation activity including enplanements (originating, connecting, domestic, international), aircraft operations, and air cargo to provide a basis for facility planning.
  • Facility Requirements – The analysis of the relationships between existing facility operational capacity and aviation activity demand, and the development of future facility capacity requirements necessary to accommodate forecast aviation activity.
  • Alternatives Development – The identification of facility development concepts that meet the facility requirements necessary to accommodate future demand, and the systematic process of evaluation and refinement to identify a preferred plan of development.
  • Airport Development Plan – The presentation of the recommended development plan, its components, implementation schedule, and development costs.

MASTER PLAN PUBLIC WORKSHOP #3 – SEPTEMBER 18, 2014

Public Workshop #3 reviewed the Master Plan Process, and the resultant Draft Recommended Plan. Additionally, the workshop provided the opportunity for the public to ask questions and offer comment on the master plan. Department of Aviation staff were in attendance and provided information and answered questions. MASTER PLAN PUBLIC WORKSHOP #2 – APRIL 11, 2013

Public Workshop #2 reviewed the topics of Master Plan Process, Activity Forecasts and introduced the topics of Demand/ Capacity and Facility Requirements Analysis. Presentation boards used in Public Workshop #2 are available here.

 

 

AIRPORT MASTER PLAN STATUS UPDATE FOR THE ATLANTA CITY COUNCIL - TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE, NOVEMBER 28, 2012
