Hartsfield-Jackson announces international terminal Twitter contest
ATLANTA — Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is offering 30 of its Twitter followers a chance at an exclusive tour of the international terminal, which is set to open this spring.
To be eligible for the contest, which launched today, entrants must follow the Airport’s Twitter feed and retweet one of the contest messages. The first contest tweet was posted this morning; additional messages will be posted throughout the week. The contest ends Friday at 11:59 p.m., and winners will be selected at random.
“Very few people, if any, from the general public have seen the inside of the international terminal in person,” said Aviation General Manager Louis Miller. “We think this is an exciting way to generate interest in and awareness of the new facility.”
The tour of the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal will be held March 14. Complete rules for the contest are available on the Airport’s website and can be seen by clicking http://www.atlanta-airport.com/docs/NewsRoom/Contest%20Rules_intl%20terminal%20tour_feb%202012%20(3).pdf
The 1.2 million-square-foot international terminal and its 12-gate concourse connect with the existing international concourse, creating a world-class, 40-gate travel complex.
The international terminal will eliminate the need for Atlanta-bound passengers to recheck their baggage. Passengers will access the international terminal via I-75 at Exit 239.
