Hartsfield-Jackson passenger traffic up for January
ATLANTA — Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport announced today that passenger traffic in January was 7.30 percent higher than a year earlier, increasing from 6,338,343 passengers in 2011 to 6,800,851 passengers in 2012.
Domestic passengers increased by 8.55 percent — from 5,580,570 in 2011 to 6,057,925 in 2012. International passengers decreased by 1.96 percent — from 757,773 in 2011 to 742,926 in 2012.
Aircraft operations (landings and takeoffs) increased by 4.32 percent — from 71,623 in 2011 to 74,715 in 2012. International operations increased by 1.77 percent — from 5,548 in 2011 to 5,646 in 2012.
Total air cargo for January decreased by 11.24 percent — from 50,195 metric tons in 2011 to 44,553 metric tons in 2012.
