Hartsfield-Jackson’s 12th Annual FOD Walk Expected to Draw More Than 200 Volunteers
Employees volunteer to pick-up debris from an airport runway

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport will hosts its 12th Annual Foreign
Object Debris (FOD) Walk. While Hartsfield-Jackson performs daily FOD inspections
to ensure that the airfield is clear of debris, every year, airport employees volunteer to
find and remove debris that could be hazardous to plane traffic. Airport officials will
close Runway 8L/26R and the north cargo ramp for about 30 minutes to enable
employees to search for and remove FOD.

Media attending the event are asked to arrive by 6 a.m. at the North Cargo Building. Due to security requirements for this event, there are no exceptions to the RSVP policy.
