Catch the "Spirit" at Hartsfield-Jackson
By Charisma Cannon
On any given day, travelers walking into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta
International Airport's North Terminal can catch the "Spirit." Spirit
Airlines that is. Since February, the airline has been operating out
of Hartsfield-Jackson with a daily non-stop flight to Fort Lauderdale,
Florida.
Located next to the Northwest/KLM ticket counters, you will find bright
red, white and blue colors and large, eye-catching plasma screens. Travelers
depart Atlanta bound for Fort Lauderdale and connect to flights headed
to one of 12 Caribbean destinations, including Jamaica, Cancun, Bahamas,
St. Thomas and San Juan. The airline also offers service from other
popular U.S. destinations such as Las Vegas, New York and Chicago.
Welcoming the new carrier, Airport General Manager Ben DeCosta said,
"We are constantly looking for ways to expand and enhance service. The
addition of Spirit further expands our offerings of service to popular
exotic locations."
