Airport Employers Find Quality Applicants at May Job Fair
by Bob Picariello

The quality of the job seekers at Hartsfield-Jackson’s May Job Fair was just what airport companies were looking for.

UPS’s Human Resources Supervisor Julie Tucker said, “We are filling our most difficult shift, the airport’s third shift, with some really good people.”

The majority of the 25 airport companies who attended the May 31 event at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park agreed with Julie’s assessment.

Job seekers were presented with a diverse mix of companies at this Job Fair. Of the 25 companies in attendance, 11 were airport-related and seven were retail and food/beverage shops. The remaining companies came from the government services area.

Hartsfield-Jackson, the largest employer in Georgia, continues to generate jobs and continues to help job seekers find good positions for their skills. Airport Job Fairs are just one of several ways people can find work in and around the airport.

The next Airport Job Fair is scheduled for October 25, 2006. For more information please check the Airport’s website: www.atlanta-airport.com for announcements in the months leading up to the event.
