More Than 60 Retail Spaces Up For Lease
By DeAllous Smith

The world’s busiest airport hosted a viewing and information session for individuals interested in learning about the upcoming Concessions Request(s) for Proposal (RFP) at the Georgia International Convention Center on Friday, October 20 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

“Concessions Retail Industry Day,” was an important opportunity for retail companies interested in conducting business at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to learn about the upcoming RFP and provide feedback on the solicitation document.

The program was designed to attract concessionaires, including apparel, book stores, news and gifts and other specialty retail shops. The RFP encompasses more than 60 retail spaces in the Airport, with the exception of Concourse E. In 2005, the combined revenue for all concessions totaled $88 million.

“The RFP structure provides an opportunity for our retail stores to reflect the ‘Opening Day Fresh’ theme at Hartsfield-Jackson,” said Director of Concessions John Cugasi. “As a result, we anticipate our efforts will exceed the expectations of our diverse domestic and global consumer base.”

The preliminary RFP document seeks the widest range of participation and encourages all national and local businesses to apply.
