Atlanta Has World’s Busiest Airport Again
By Triphenya Bailey
In what has become a good-natured rivalry between the world’s two busiest airports, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has once again earned the title as the world’s busiest airport, outpacing Chicago’s O’Hare International in terms of passengers and aircraft operations.
More than 84.8 million passengers traveled through the Atlanta Airport during 2006, a slight decrease from the previous year, when 85.9 million travelers passed through its gates.
“We are proud of our designation as the world’s busiest, and we are, daily, working toward becoming the world’s best,” said Aviation General Manager Ben DeCosta.
