Atrium’s Full-Service Banking Operations Scheduled for a Makeover
By DeAllous Smith

Beginning this month, customers banking in the Atrium at the world’s busiest airport will notice sweeping changes to the areas operated by Capitol City Bank and Trust Company, Travelex and Wachovia Corporation (NYSE: WB).

Once construction is complete in May, banking operations in the Airport’s Atrium will be more aesthetically pleasing to patrons and include new counter tops for customer transactions. The area will also feature new overhead signage, three new Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and porcelain wall coverings near the ATMs to reflect Wachovia’s signature blue, green and white logo.

“Airport concessions are an integral part of the overall travel experience. And, our banking centers are especially important because they provide both employees and passengers with instant access to monetary resources for everyday living,” said Concessions Manager Kyle Mastin. “Additionally, the cosmetic upgrades will make the Atrium’s financial institutions more identifiable to passengers.”

Wachovia operates 18 ATM banking centers throughout Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, including Terminal T, concourses A through D and in the Atrium. At this time, only the three ATMs located in the Atrium area are targeted for upgrades.

Capitol City’s teller windows and personal service office and Travelex’s foreign currency exchange counter, all located in approximately 1,000 square feet of space in the Atrium, will also be included in the upgrades.

All banking operations will remain open during construction. The Airport’s tenants pay for all concessions build-out at the facility. Aviation officials must approve all renderings and schematics.
