Airport Employees “Get Fresh” During Cleaning Campaign
By Triphenya Bailey
Every day in the ATL is an opening day – Opening Day Fresh that is, when it comes to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.

More than 100 Airport
employees representing various airlines and tenants operating at Hartsfield-Jackson,
as well as the City of Atlanta Department of Aviation workers, pitched
in recently to participate in an airport-wide spring cleaning campaign
known as “Opening Day Fresh.” |
|
Nine cross-functional teams made up of a dozen or so workers from various work stations and units within the Airport joined forces to ensure their assigned areas were indeed cleaned to “Opening Day Fresh” standards. “This is pretty impressive,” commented Aviation employee Leslie Putnam, “There’s not a lot to pick up,” as she and her cleaning partners on Team 5 canvassed the spine and food court areas of Concourse B looking for items out of place. A week after the Airport-wide cleaning campaign kicked off, nearly 75 Delta Air Lines employees participated in their own spring spruce-up version known as “ATL After Dark.” Teams of Delta and Airport employees from the Department of Aviation and AATC joined forces to clean the airline gate areas, aircraft, group rooms and other Airport locations. |
