H-JAIA Post Office to Resume Normal Business Hours

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest airport, is not just another international airport; but, instead, operates as efficiently as a small city, providing the Airport community with daily, necessary services. The H-JAIA post office was the first branch to be located within an airport, opening its doors during the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Normal business hours are 6:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday and noon - 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. On March 31, 2007, however, the H-JAIA post office temporarily changed its business hours to 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday; and, noon - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Normal business hours will resume at the end of June.

At the full-service post office, conveniently located near the Airport’s Atrium, customers can purchase a wide array of products and services, including envelopes, stamps, packaging supplies, and domestic and international shipping services. Diane d’Estries, a Delta Air lines employee and frequent traveler, uses the post office when stopping through Atlanta in between flights. “It’s great for shipping items back home,” says d’Estries. “Having [the post office] here at your fingertips is extremely convenient. I’d be hard pressed without it.”
