IAAP President Shellie Morgan
Always Finds Room Plan for success. It’s a motto that Shellie Morgan, administrative analyst and newly appointed president of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), Airport chapter, stresses to all employees and particularly IAAP members. IAAP is a global organization that provides members with networking, education and ongoing training opportunities to enhance professional excellence. IAAP’s active membership includes an estimated 40,000 professionals and affiliates worldwide.
I’ve always encouraged others to realize their strengths and talents and enroll in training courses and to take action,” said Morgan, who has served as a mentor to many people. “Fear and procrastination are the enemies of success.” Morgan is the fourth president of the Airport chapter,
which has 35 active members ranging from administrative professionals
to division supervisors. As the 2008 president, she is committed to
increasing the chapter’s enrollment, raising money for the group’s
retirement fund and partnering with local high schools to start an
IAAP chapter for students. In 2006, she served as the chapter’s vice president under Maryella Montgomery, a senior administrative assistant and former two-term IAAP president. The following year, Morgan became president-elect under then chapter president and administrative assistant Melva Brown. “Shellie has been an asset to the organization,” said Montgomery. “When Shellie was selected to become vice president, I knew she would bring a strong work ethic, effective communication skills and increase membership.” IAAP’s Airport Chapter meets the second Tuesday of each month. Membership is open to all airline and airport employees. For more information about IAAP or to join, contact Shellie Morgan at (404) 530-2347. |
