Hola! AirTran begins nonstop service from Atlanta to Cancun Muy caliente! - or “very hot” - is the only way to describe AirTran Airways’ celebration of new daily nonstop flights from Atlanta to Cancun, Mexico. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s second-largest carrier and Department of Aviation officials announced the service during a news conference on February 25. To set a festive tone, the Havana Son band provided salsa music in the Atrium, and Concourse T’s On the Border restaurant served Mexican cuisine in the AirTran ticketing area Ben DeCosta, Department of Aviation general manager, and Tad Hutchenson, vice president of marketing and sales for AirTran, donned big smiles and sombreros as they talked about the new route. Hartsfield-Jackson is the only airport where AirTran travelers can catch a nonstop flight for a getaway to Cancun.
