Airport dazzles travelers with Arrowmont collection
By DeAllous Smith

You don’t have to go to a fine art gallery in New York, Paris or Rome to see the largest traveling collection of pieces from the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts’ permanent collection. You need only go to Concourse T.

The exhibit, “From Tradition to Innovation: Enriching Lives Through Art,” is a timeless collection of handmade ceramic, fiber and wood pieces that push the boundaries of traditional craft. All pieces were created between 1970 and 2008.

“Passengers of all ages will enjoy the Arrowmont’s rich and colorful exhibit,” said David Vogt, manager of the Airport Art Program. “To enhance the experience, we’ve also added a video gallery, which explains the history of the school and provides an overview of the various workshops that are conducted.”

The Arrowmont exhibit, presented by the Airport Art Program along the north corridor of Concourse T between gates 12 and 14, is on display through December. For more information, call the Airport Art Program at (404) 530-4289.
