Park-Ride shuttles roll out to fanfare
Cool summer temperatures, balloons, smiling employees and courteous drivers provided the perfect backdrop on July 21 for the unveiling of 18 new energy-efficient Park-Ride shuttle buses at the world's most efficient airport.
The Park-Ride shuttles were branded with the Airport's eye-catching, signature red-and-black ParkATL logo.
"Displaying the redesigned image on the Park-Ride vehicles unifies the Airport's parking operations under a common brand," said Katie Stanciel, aviation parking manager. "This will make it easier to identify the Airport's Park-Ride service to different airport lots, while introducing new customers to our quicker, more convenient and competitive parking service."
Randy Nelms of Marietta was among the first to travel on the new Park-Ride shuttles.
"Wow, they're really nice!" he said. "I could tell the buses were newer as soon as I walked out of the terminal."
A total of 58 Park-Ride shuttle buses will breeze across the Airport's terminal roadways to the more than 8,000 Park-Ride on-site parking spaces in three close-in lots. New signage will make it easier for customers to find their buses and lots.
"Park-Ride customers will continue to experience the fast, friendly and reliable service to which they've become accustomed at the Airport," Stanciel said.
Park-Ride buses offer the convenience of shuttling customers directly from their cars to the terminal curbside and vice versa. Hartsfield-Jackson's Park-Ride costs just $9 per day, which is less expensive than the majority of the off-site, independent parking services.
Hartsfield-Jackson began rebranding the hourly, daily and economy parking facilities with the ParkATL logo in 2008. The logo was expanded to the Airport's state-of-the-art revenue control system, which includes more than 40 express prepay stations.
