Hartsfield-Jackson in the news

National Public Radio aired a story about Hartsfield-Jackson Chaplain Chester Cook, which also was posted on the channel’s Web site. The story offered a deeper understanding of Cook’s work at the Airport, not only in spiritual matters but also in everyday situations and crises that travelers face.

The September 9 article and radio report shared with a nationwide audience stories from Cook’s experiences at Hartsfield-Jackson, including cases in which he has reached out to travelers on the brink of desperation.

In other news:

  • A September 23 Atlanta Business Chronicle story reported on the inaugural flight of Singapore Airlines Cargo, the first around-the-world freighter to serve Hartsfield-Jackson.

  • MSN Travel created a slide show of airports nationwide with the best displays of art. Hartsfield-Jackson was included, with the text specifically mentioning the large ants crawling across the ceiling in the baggage claim area of Terminal North; “Corncorde,” an oversized ear of corn suspended from the ceiling in Concourse E; and “Flying Machines,” sculptures made from recycled trash.

  • WXIA-TV 11 Alive reported on September 15 about the Airport’s seven kiosks to offer flu shots for travelers and employees.
