Airport observes Latino Heritage Month with music series Music lovers, unite! The Latino Heritage Month music series returned to Hartsfield-Jackson as part of its observance of national Hispanic Heritage Month. “From salsa to rumba, Latin music has enriched every aspect of modern American culture,” said David Vogt, Airport Art Program manager. “Passengers and employees should prepare themselves for a real treat. Since 2005, we’ve assembled a very talented group of entertainers who have genuinely captured the breath, heart and soul of Latin music.” The Latino Heritage Month music series continues through October 16. Performances take place in the Atrium every Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Hartsfield-Jackson’s annual celebration also includes luncheons at which the Airport’s Latino leaders share their stories of success with students from local schools in the Partners in Education program. Students participated in an essay contest; this year’s topic was the Supreme Court appointment of Sonia Sotomayor, the high court’s first Hispanic justice. The complete list of dates and performers in the music series is below: September 18
