Hartsfield-Jackson in the news

Several media outlets covered the debut of Hartsfield-Jackson’s new recycling program, which takes the effort out of environmental responsibility by combining all trash and recyclables into one container and taking all of it to be sorted at a specialized facility.

The program, called GreenSortATL, was introduced at a press conference on November 12. Stories appeared soon thereafter in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, in USA Today and on WSB-TV Channel 2.

In other news:
  • The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on November 23 published a story about the new Minute Suites on Concourse B, where travelers can rent miniature rooms for a quiet place to rest, read, watch TV or catch up on some work. The suites at Hartsfield-Jackson are the first of their kind at any U.S. airport.
  • Airport Improvement magazine’s November 12 issue featured a story about operations and exercises at Hartsfield-Jackson’s Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) training facility.
