Zoo Atlanta’s panda has a flight to catch

Mei Lan, the giant panda born in 2006 at Zoo Atlanta, will return to her parents’ native land, and her point of departure is Hartsfield-Jackson.

Airport officials will be on hand for a special farewell early in the morning on February 4 as Mei Lan and one of her keepers board a specially designed FedEx cargo freighter for a flight to Dulles International Airport in Washington. They will be joined by a male panda born at the National Zoo for a nonstop flight to China.
