According to Tom Nissalke, director of environmental and technical services, “we want to maximize opportunities for small and disadvantaged business owners. This meeting is designed to give them the tools and information they need to participate in the program.” The NIP is a voluntary program approved by the Federal Aviation Administration to make noise-sensitive properties near airport boundaries compatible with aircraft noise. AAAE honors DeCosta with Leadership Award Aviation General Manager Ben DeCosta on May 18 received the American Association of Airport Executives’ (AAAE) Leadership Award at the organization’s 82nd annual conference and exposition in Dallas. The award is presented only when the AAAE chairperson wants to recognize a member who has made a significant contribution to the association and the industry. “I am extremely honored to be recognized by the AAAE,” DeCosta said. “I am happy to have served as a board member to further the education and training of industry professionals. My association with the AAAE also has given me the opportunity to help advocate for important policies that benefit the industry.”
Ben DeCosta was honored for his “many important contributions to our association and to the airport management community over the years,” said John Duval, AAAE chairman.
