Hartsfield-Jackson in the news
Though the Airport’s Airside Operations team monitors the runways
constantly to remove any debris that could damage aircraft, Hartsfield-Jackson
holds an annual event to draw awareness to the dangers of foreign
object debris (FOD).
This year’s FOD Walk on May 12 drew more than 200 volunteers
— and attention from members of the media. WSB-TV covered the
ninth annual event, and The
Atlanta Journal-Constitution put a photo gallery of FOD-gatherers
on ajc.com.
