| Simply the best: Hartsfield-Jackson wins It’s official! Hartsfield-Jackson has won Air Cargo Week’s prestigious World Air Cargo Award for Airport of the Year for the second year in a row. The ceremony ─ held in Shanghai, China, as part of the Air Cargo China 2010 Exhibition and Conference ─ celebrates excellence in the global air cargo industry. “We’re honored to receive Air Cargo Week’s award for the second consecutive year,” said Assistant General Manager for Commercial Development Arnaldo Ruiz. “As we continue to build upon Hartsfield-Jackson’s outstanding reputation, this award further proves our unwavering commitment to the entire aviation community.” The other finalists this year were Changi (Singapore), Incheon (South Korea) and Amsterdam Schiphol (Netherlands) international airports. Air Cargo Week magazine asked readers to vote, giving consideration to four key areas: investment in cargo services, special facilities, cargo clearance times and plans for future developments. The cargo that moves through Hartsfield-Jackson creates 176,248 jobs and $35 billion in business sales in the six-state Southeastern region (Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee).
