officials greet Asiana Airlines’ first flight All is set at Hartsfield-Jackson for the arrival of Asiana Airlines on September 13. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and interim General Manager Robert Kennedy will welcome the inaugural Asiana 747-400 cargo freighter as it arrives from Seoul, South Korea. Senior executives from Asiana Airlines will meet with the mayor and be on hand as the arriving cargo aircraft is greeted with a traditional water cannon salute provided by two Airport fire trucks. As the plane is unloaded and prepared for departure, the mayor will meet with the flight crew and tour the jumbo jet. Asiana Airlines’ four weekly cargo flights to Atlanta will
create 25 jobs and have an estimated $24 million economic impact on
Atlanta and the Southeast. Asiana adds to the growing list of all-cargo
carriers operating at Hartsfield-Jackson. Singapore Airlines Cargo
began scheduled service to Atlanta in September 2009.
Asiana Airlines will begin cargo flights to Atlanta on September 13. It becomes the 14th all-cargo carrier at Hartsfield-Jackson.
