Hartsfield-Jackson in the news

The big story at Hartsfield-Jackson in September was the appointment of Louis Miller as general manager, and media outlets responded accordingly.

The story was covered by print and broadcast media as well as bloggers. In addition to reports announcing the breaking news of the appointment, follow-up stories provided further insight into Miller’s goals, achievements and personality.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on the announcement and followed up with two more in-depth stories about Miller (“New Hartsfield-Jackson chief: ‘Nothing scares me’ ” and “Louis Miller: Workaholic manager who cares about his employees”).

Also covering the story were the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Global Atlanta, WXIA Channel 11 and other television stations, and blogger Maria Saporta in her SaportaReport, which expressed surprise at Mayor Kasim Reed’s selection and followed up with a co-written piece about Miller’s enthusiasm to accept the job at Hartsfield-Jackson.

The Miller story even made news outside of Atlanta. In Tampa, where Miller most recently worked as executive director and CEO of Tampa International Airport, St. Petersburg Times columnist Sue Carlton wrote about Miller’s accomplishments at that airport.
