YouTube channel marks a milestone
By A.B. Snedeker

Hartsfield-Jackson not only is the busiest airport in the world but also has one of the world’s busiest airport YouTube channels. On September 29, the Airport’s channel at www.youtube.com/atlantahartsfield topped a quarter-million total video views.

Video views on the Airport’s YouTube channel have risen steadily since it launched in December 2008. At the end of its first year, the videos on the channel had been watched about 84,000 times. The 200,000 mark was surpassed in early July. There are 600 new views of the videos daily.

The Airport’s channel has more than 870 friends and subscribers. These include popular travel and tourism channels The Lonely Planet, the Travel Channel and National Geographic. Other channel friends are the National Business Travel Association and the Association of Corporate Travel Executives.

As of late September, 56 videos were posted on the Airport’s channel. A recent video covers the big sendoff for Atlanta Braves Manager Bobby Cox, who was wrapping up his final season at the team’s helm. Delta Air Lines hosted the event on September 16 to celebrate Cox as he departed for his final regular-season road trip as the Braves manager.
