Hartsfield-Jackson in the news
Hartsfield-Jackson’s and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed’s participation
in The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) November 2-4 in
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, received widespread media coverage.

Business Chronicle and Global
Atlanta outlined the primary objectives for being involved
with the conference: to promote Hartsfield-Jackson as a leader in
cargo operations and to recruit more cargo airlines to do business
in Atlanta.
A WSB-TV
Channel 2 report led with the news that Atlanta will host TIACA,
the industry’s premier international conference, in 2012. The
station also quoted Hartsfield-Jackson General Manager Louis Miller
and others regarding the Airport’s capacity to expand its cargo
operation.

- Miller’s efforts to familiarize the
media with his work at the Airport continued to gain steam
as he talked with WSB-TV Channel 2 anchorwoman Jovita Moore
and WXIA-TV Channel 11 anchorwoman Brenda Wood on November
9. (These interviews are not available on the channels’
Web sites.) He also conducted a lengthy interview with The
Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which resulted in a
story about some of the big projects that he inherited when
he became the Airport’s general manager.
- Stories related to the Airport’s successful
work to sell bonds to finance the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International
Terminal appeared in AviationNews.net,
The

Businessweek, the Atlanta
Business Chronicle and Global
Atlanta.
- On November 3, Global
Atlanta published a story about the Airport’s
Atrium exhibit of work by local photographers.
- The SmartPlanet.com
blog ran an in-depth piece about Hartsfield-Jackson’s
planning for the international terminal on November 17.
- When Hartsfield-Jackson became the world’s
first airport to debut the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine, which
offers more than 100 beverage options, just before Thanksgiving,
the news appeared in the Atlanta Business Chronicle,
The
Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Examiner.com
blog and USA Today’s Stuck
in the Airport blog.
