Going the extra mile: Electric shuttle carts arrive at Hartsfield-Jackson
By DeAllous Smith

Hartsfield-Jackson is going green and switching from gas-powered to electric shuttle carts in the north and south economy parking lots.

“It’s out with the old and in with the new: electric courtesy shuttle carts,” said Aviation General Manager Louis Miller. “These energy-sipping carts will drive us toward a greener tomorrow today.”

The carts, which comfortably transport up to five adults, offer plenty of storage space for luggage. The black carts bear Hartsfield-Jackson’s signature ParkATL logo.

Other benefits of going electric include quieter engines, lower maintenance costs, tires designed for surface street driving and, best of all, no fuel costs.

“We’re offering our customers greener services and still providing access to safe, secure on-site parking facilities 24 hours a day,” Miller said. “With more than 6,000 combined parking spaces in the economy lots, our customers will continue to experience speedy, friendly and reliable service.”

At only $12 per day, the north and south economy parking lots are among the most convenient, economical choices for long-term parking. The courtesy shuttles transport customers from their cars to the terminal curbside and vice versa from 8 a.m. to midnight seven days a week.
