International journalists get terminal tour
Nearly 50 international journalists from around the world toured the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal on May 15.
The journalists were in Atlanta for a three-day International Media Summit hosted by Delta Air Lines. A highlight of the visit was getting a firsthand look at how the international terminal operates on behalf of their readers, listeners and viewers who will pass through the facility on trips to the United States.
Aviation General Manager Louis Miller welcomed the group, who represented nations such as Japan, Brazil, Italy, Germany and Peru.
“Your readers, listeners and viewers have a choice of which city to fly through when they visit the United States for business or as tourists,” Miller said. “Our goal with this magnificent building is to make sure they choose Atlanta!”
The journalists visited the Delta Sky Club before dividing into four groups for tours of the facility led by Airport employees.
They returned to the international terminal to witness the first departing and arriving flights on May 16 before leaving for their home countries.
