Airport Shows its appreciation for air cargo partners
By DeAllous Smith

The Department of Aviation held its fourth annual Air Cargo Appreciation Day and Expo to thank the cargo community for helping make Hartsfield-Jackson air cargo operations among the best in the nation.

“Air Cargo Day shines a well-deserved spotlight on the Atlanta air cargo community,” said Aviation General Manager Louis Miller. “Our cargo partners recognize the Airport’s great infrastructure and strong freight forwarding community which supports high-quality air cargo operations.”

A highlight of the program was the second annual air cargo awards. Winners were selected in four categories:

Passenger Airline of the Year – Delta Air Lines
All-Cargo Airline of the Year – Cathay Pacific Airways
Freight Forwarder of the Year – Kuehne and Nagel
Trucking Company of the Year – Forward Air

The Department of Aviation in partnership with the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Atlanta Air Cargo Association organized today’s event. Attendees from nearly 35 companies enjoyed a barbeque lunch and the opportunity to share information about their cargo-related businesses.
