Airport team members participate in Partners in Education event
By DeAllous Smith

The STEM (Science – Technology – Engineering – Math) concept is gaining popularity throughout the nation, and Hartsfield-Jackson is making a contribution toward its success. Airport team members shared their knowledge of these study areas with students during a STEM-focused career day at Atlanta’s West Manor Elementary School

“I really enjoyed participating in the STEM program,” said Aviation Senior Asset Manager Sarah Peek. “It is clear to me these students take their lessons very seriously, and many of them would be great assets to the Airport in another 10 to 12 years!”

The Partners in Education Program serves as the Airport’s signature community outreach initiative. The goal of this program is to connect Hartsfield-Jackson to schools in the Airport community. Since its inception in 2003, Our Partners program has built relationships with Fulton and Clayton County school districts and Atlanta Public Schools.

“It’s a pleasure to support our Partners in Education program,” said Aviation General Manager Louis Miller. “The STEM curriculum will help prepare our youth to compete in a workforce where it is increasingly important to have a strong knowledge of science and technology.”
