Hartsfield-Jackson's
Rental Car Center (RCC)
Count Down:
Grand Opening Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009
With so much to see and do in the Atlanta area it is not surprising that the city is the fourth largest rental car market in the country. In fact, more than 2 million passengers rent vehicles each year at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This is expected to jump nearly 65 percent by 2015.
To meet current needs and forecasted demand, the City of Atlanta and the Airport began planning for a new remote off-site car facility as a part of the overall Capital Improvement Program (CIP) adopted and implemented in 2000. Construction began on the rental car center in early 2006.
The 10-year, currently $6 billion-plus Capital Improvement Program supports the Airport’s overall mission by planning, designing, building and maintaining facilities to meet projected growth in domestic and international travel. CIP projects reduce flight delays, increase airfield and terminal capacity, enhance overall customer service, and substantially contribute to Georgia’s economic development.
Today, Hartsfield-Jackson’s state-of-the-art rental car center is just months away from being complete and ready for business. When it opens this November the new rental car center will house all Airport rental car companies and their associated operations, including customer service, administrative offices, ready/return parking, fueling and maintenance facilities.
