Sunwing Airlines debuts at Hartsfield-Jackson Just a little over a week after it opened, the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal already welcomed a new charter airline. Sunwing Airlines’ inaugural flight out of Hartsfield-Jackson to Cancun, Mexico, departed from F5 at about 4:15 p.m. on May 25, becoming the newest passenger charter airline at the Airport. Sunwing Airlines flights, sold exclusively by Vacation Express, will offer nonstop service to Cancun and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. “We are happy to give our customers the additional choices that Sunwing Airlines will offer,” Aviation General Manager Louis Miller said. Passengers at the gate were invited to celebrate with cake and cupcakes, and airline officials were on hand to mark the occasion. Sunwing Airlines will operate charter service to Cancun on Fridays and Mondays and to Punta Cana on Saturdays. The new seasonal program is scheduled to operate through October.
