Due to the very high level of activity at Hartsfield-Jackson, the Department of Aviation has recently explored ways to maximize the utilization of available resources. Our primary initiative in this regard has been the conversion of resources to common use. At this point, there are 39 ticket counter positions, 10 domestic gates on Concourse D and 28 International gates on Concourse E that are operated on a common use basis. Furthermore, we are in the process of converting the North Terminal domestic baggage claim area and devices to common use. We have recently completed drafting the proposed Common Use Regulations which will govern the use of the common use facilities at Hartsfield-Jackson.
