New Concessions Planned for International Concourse
By Triphenya Bailey
Spring has sprung. And with the arrival of warmer temperatures comes,
for many, a desire to change the scenery and get away from work, school
and other routine obligations.
Those spring fever sufferers traveling outside the United States and
departing from any of the 28 international gates at Hartsfield-Jackson
Airport, will soon notice some changes in "We're looking to introduce
some new amenities and concepts to our International Concourse E,"
said John Cugasi, the director of concessions at Hartsfield-Jackson
Atlanta International Airport. Plans under consideration include adding
music and high-definition, flat-screen television viewing for food
court patrons.
By the summer's end, Atlanta's international travelers may notice
a presence from at least two nationally recognizable food chains -
one specializing in hamburgers and fries and another mastering in
roast beef sandwiches. A Chinese food concept is also under consideration
for the international travelers.
Other food and beverage concepts scheduled to appear on Concourse
E include a frozen dessert shop, a pizzeria, a trendy coffee shop
and an authentic Mexican restaurant. "We are really looking to diversify
the food offerings and expand the options that are available for Airport
customers," explained Cugasi.
He emphasized that Atlanta Airport's Concessions Management Team is
also pursuing two additional restaurants for Concourse E, with openings
set for fall 2006.
